
Yesterday we talked about dyeing denim, and today I’m going to show you how the bleached denim turned out. I think it turned out well. I had a jean jacket this exact color in 1986.
The denim jacket started out a medium-dark wash. It’s wet here so it looks a little darker.


You can see the color comparison here. All you need is a Goodwill denim jacket, a gallon of bleach, water, a Hazmat suit, three days, and some patience! Happy Bleaching! This DIY was a success! (But I have to say the two pair of jeans that were bleached did not have this nice color…it is trial and error.)
