You have to be really careful with decanters. A few years back they discovered that most crystal had lead in it. So they don’t recommend that you use them for any food related items. I have a beautiful Baccarat crystal decanter that had something in it, so we had to throw the liquid away. You can use them empty, or for an hour, or add colored water to them.
