Thrifting Denver

Mid Century Beauty

The Brooklyn Bridge…The Arch de Triumph…hmmm…Where is this exactly?
Have you ever thought of visiting a Goodwill store on vacation?  I have!  I am fortunate to spend a lot of time on the Central Coast of California.   It is the home of Carmel by the Sea an art mecca and beautiful vacation destination.  So while I was in the area I did a little art shopping at Goodwill of course!

Which is where I came across this Mid Century Cityscape.  Isn’t it lovely?  If I had a home there I would have snatched it right up!  I didn’t even have time to look for a price.  A very lucky and timely interior designer was bringing in a client to see it and purchased it right on the spot.   Do you ever have thrift envy?  Yeah so do I.

Famous artist?  Who cares?  What a lovely piece of art from a lovely Goodwill store by the sea.  Next time your are on vacation go on a little side thrift trip.  You never know what you might find!

Visiting Denver soon?  We have over 20 stores in the metro area.  Come shop with us!

  1. I just hate all those. I grew up with all that Mid Century Modern stuff. I was lucky that we lived in Japan when I was young, so most of our art was Asian. I have such a visceral reaction to Mid Century Modern. It wasn’t really that popular then. The Thrifty store is up and running with tons of things as people leave for the season. Ann

  2. Ann, that is so funny! I feel the same way about 80′s decor!
